It’s All in the Cards – About Ad Magic

You hear that expression It’s All in the Cards – and may wonder what it really means. For me and my company Ad Magic –  it is literally millions of custom playing cards - and custom poker chips.

And other things!

How did this happen you might wonder?  How did a nice girl like me – who was suposed to be maybe a lawyer or a engineer (or a world famous songwriter) get involved in printing – of all things – playing cards – and millions of them at that?
Well quite accidentally actually.  I had been in the printing business since 1986 when my father in law owned a large plant that manufactured credit cards and sheet fed vinyl specialty items – like plastic rulers and bookmarks. Remember those credit size inspiration cards with the pretty pictures and sayings on them (remember the fake bullshit credit cards) Yup we printed those.

Anyway – that company was eventually bought out and eventually I went into business – did that entrepreneur thing (read into this that possibly I could not find a job that suited me at that point anyway) and started manufacturing all kinds of things.  One day many years ago -we made a deck of cards.  And I fell in love with them.  And the world fell in love with poker.  And that was the start of it.  Now – many many years later – Ad Magic manufactures custom playing cards and poker chips and custom boxes for them and all kinds of related products. Board games and custom checkers and score pads, dice and spinners and custom inserts for the games. I will never forget the excitement of seeing the cards we manufactured for Access Hollywood on television for the first time during their 10 year anniversary special. That was a real thrill.  But – we also manufacture many other items that are NOT related to custom playing cards and custom board games.  We manufacture custom glassware and architectural rulers and special plastic templates- and we even made these cool USB drives for one of my favorite PODCASTS – THIS AMERICAN LIFE – shown here.
