Ad Magic Events At Gen Con
Its been a while since I had so much exciting news to blog about – but I have to talk about GEN CON in August – since we are bringing some of our clients there with us and we have a TON of events running. As an Indie Game Printer with a lot of kickstarter clients – we realized that after kickstarter, many of our game designer clients just had an impossibly hard time affording cons and getting out there in general to market their games. It just seemed like a good idea – since Ad Magic was going anyway – to invite them along to some Cons with us. It seemed to work out well at PAX in Boston (Check out this Board Game Geek Video) – so now we are all going to Gen Con 🙂 where Ad Magic has booked three booths on the show floor – half a dozen EVENT tables, and daily office hours in the First Exposure Playtest Hall. Several members of my staff and I will be available in the FEPH during office hours to meet with designers and answer their questions about the production process, art, paper types, box styles, molding, miniatures, shipping and fulfillment.
My staff members Amy, Jenni, Yvonne and I will all be there to answer your questions and show you how to submit quotes. I will also be hosting a brief presentation touching on some of the crazy things we have manufactured for Cards Against Humanity.
Our goal is to give hopeful game designers some insight into the real process of creating market quality games and how to minimize errors, delays, and miscommunication. We will show you how NOT to submit a quote request and most importantly
how NOT to treat your printer (some of you may be able to relate to this one!)
ANYWAY…
I just got an update from Peter Vaughn of What the Food fame – who is helping me to keep track of the 9 game designers and over 100 events we are running at Gen Con. Keeping this all updated and organized as much as possible – he has prepared this list of all the Ad Magic sponsored events for games. Check out the detailed listings below – some are already sold out!
All of these Ad Magic printed (or soon to be printed) games are holding events at the AD MAGIC Events Tables at Gen Con, so get tickets soon if you have not
Game of 49
The Amberden Affair
What the Food
Slash – Romance without Boundaries
A Terrible Time
What Oh – the game of couples banter
Havoc
ApocalypZe and Gothic Doctor – are all games Ad Magic has or will be printing.
Titans is another game by Ivan who came out with ApocalypZe.
I am also really happy to announce that Luke Crane of Burning Wheel, and Torchbearer fame (we actually had a hand in printing a deck for Torchbearer) will be at our Ad Magic booths as well – so that should be awesome. We have three booths but I am starting to think we should have gone bigger… It should be a blast – so everyone should come by and buy games – why not stuff a large bag with a copy of each game? I guess I am going to have to see if I can find a bag big enough to HOLD all of these games. If I find a bag large enough I will let you know.
