Tales from the Trade

Going above and beyond to save Christmas

Here at Ad Magic, we feel great about every custom poker deck and poker chip we print. However, occasionally jobs come along that hold so much more meaning than the average promotional items that it really makes our day. We did quite a few memorable decks for the holidays, but a few were even more special than the rest because we saved the day for our clients.

One client told me that she had ordered a custom poker chip set for her husband for Christmas through another factory. Unfortunately, they held onto her money and never delivered the product and stopped responding to calls! This occurred on the 21st, the Friday before Christmas. We couldn’t get the sets themselves to her on time due to factories and post offices being closed, but we did the next best thing by completing her proofs over the weekend so she could have a physical print-out to show her husband. This method even ensured that the husband could make any changes he desired on the imprints, meaning they’d be perfect despite being a little late.

Another order we completed recently was a tribute deck to a couple family members who had passed away years ago. The client said every year he incorporated the tribute into a special surprise he could give to his family members. This year, he chose customized poker card decks with custom faces.  A photo adorned every face card to keep the memories alive. He needed them quickly for a party and we got them in his hands days before his event. He was thrilled with the cards and the relief of having his surprise ready to hand out was palpable through his emails.

Though we’ve done quite a few holiday orders this season, it’s always the thoughtful gifts that really make our job special to us during the holidays. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
